Personal Track in a Group

A closed group of up to six surfers at a matching level

Each participant has their own personal profile, goals and progress plan, within a fixed framework that lets everyone grow and progress together.

  • 3 sessions a week
  • Up to 6 participants
  • 90–120 minutes per session

Not a class. A process.

In a regular surf class the group may change, new people join and the levels don't always match. It's hard to create real continuity that way and to work precisely on each surfer's needs.

In TRB's group process the group is small, fixed and level-matched.

Each participant knows what they're working on, gets personal feedback and progresses according to their own abilities and goals, without losing the strength, energy and support of the group.

What makes the process personal?

At the start of the process we build a personal profile for each surfer that lets us understand:

  • What their current surfing level is;
  • What's holding back progress;
  • Which abilities need strengthening;
  • What to focus on in and out of the water;
  • And what the next goals in the process are.

Even though the sessions take place in a group, each surfer gets focus points, corrections and tasks tailored to their own personal progress.

The training framework

The process includes:

  • Three sessions a week;
  • 90–120 minutes per session;
  • A closed group of up to six participants;
  • Frequent surf filming, up to twice a week;
  • Video analysis and personal feedback;
  • Group Zoom lessons;
  • An app with a personal profile and progress tracking;
  • Sessions in the sea, the wave pool and the skatepark.

Three training environments. One goal.

Progress in surfing doesn't only happen while catching waves. So the sessions move between three environments, according to the goal being worked on.

In the sea

In real conditions you work on reading the sea, paddling, positioning, wave selection, timing and execution.

In the wave pool

You get consistent conditions and a chance to do focused repetitions, film, correct and try again.

In the skatepark

You practice movement, generating speed, weight transfers, lines and performance mechanics, with the option to repeat the same movement again and again.

Who is the process for?

The groups are intended for surfers at one of the following stages:

Starting from scratch

Learning the fundamentals of surfing and building proper independence in the water from the very first stage.

Moving from a soft board to a hard board

Adapting technique, positioning and surfing to the next stage, without losing confidence and without rushing before the foundation is ready.

Early days on a hard board

For surfers who've already moved to a hard board and want to improve their paddling, wave catching, lines, speed generation and board control.

You don't have to choose the group yourself. Before joining we'll check your level, goals and experience and match you to the right group.

Progressing personally. Growing as a group.

A good group doesn't blur the differences between surfers; it lets each one work on what they need, within a framework that creates commitment, consistency and a pace of progress.

The goal isn't just to surf more.

The goal is to understand better what you're doing, know what to improve and arrive at every session with a clear direction.

It starts with a fit

You leave your details, we hold a short conversation and check your level, goals and availability.

If there's a fit, we'll find the right group for you and build the starting point for the process.
