Workshop
Improving Performance on a Hard Board
Every surfer is in a different place, so every surfer needs to work differently
Moving to a hard board opens new possibilities, but it also exposes more clearly the things limiting your surfing: a lack of speed, choosing the wrong line, non-fluid movement or mechanics that stop you from executing a maneuver efficiently.
In the workshop we don't teach all participants the same drill. We film each surfer, build a personal profile for them and identify the performance or movement pattern most important for them to improve right now.
Depending on the assessment, the work can focus on building speed, improving lines and flow on the wave, the bottom turn, the cutback or performance in the closing section of the wave.
- Two days
- 8 hours of training
- Filming & video analysis
- Accommodation & breakfast
Day one
- 1
Filming session and building a surfer profile
We open with a filmed surf session. A coach is in the water with the participants, watching them in real time and accompanying the session while the surfing is recorded on video. The goal of the first session is to see how each surfer behaves naturally: which waves they choose, how they generate speed, which line they choose on the wave and how the body and board work together during execution.
- 2
Personal video analysis
After the session we take a break and sit down to watch the footage. We analyze each participant's surfing, identify their strengths and the movement patterns limiting them and choose the main performance they need to work on. For one surfer the focus might be generating speed, for another the bottom turn, and for another improving the line, flow or cutback.
- 3
Correction session in the evening
We return to the sea for an evening session with a clear goal. Each surfer works on the personal focus chosen for them and starts applying the corrections they got in the video analysis.
Day two
- 1
Morning skatepark session
We open the day with a focused skatepark session. Working out of the water lets you repeat the movement mechanics again and again, understand weight transfer and practice the lines and movements we'll then want to apply on the wave. The skatepark practice is matched to each participant's personal topic: generating speed, the bottom turn, the cutback, flow or finishing maneuvers.
- 2
Breakfast and back to the sea
After the skatepark session we return to the hotel for breakfast, and from there head out to a filmed sea session. Now we connect the practice done on land with the performance on the wave and work on applying it in real time.
- 3
Closing session
We finish with another session where each participant keeps working on their personal focus points. At the end of the workshop we summarize the change, the points that still need work and the right way to keep training.
What can you work on in the workshop?
Depending on your level and personal assessment, the work can focus on:
- Building speed and maintaining it along the wave.
- Improving lines and flow.
- Choosing the right position on the wave face.
- Improving bottom-turn mechanics.
- Performing a more precise, flowing cutback.
- Working on performance in the closing section.
- A better connection between movement, gaze and weight transfer.
- Matching the land practice to performance in the water.
What does the workshop include?
- Two days and 8 hours of intensive training.
- Filmed sessions in the sea.
- In-water coach guidance.
- Building a personal surfer profile.
- Professional video analysis.
- A focused skatepark session.
- Personal work on the performance relevant to each participant.
- Receiving your personal surf clips.
- Professional feedback and summary.
- A personal work plan for what's next — in and out of the water.
- Accommodation at the Domus hotel in Bat Galim.
- Breakfast.
- The club and accommodation are a few steps from the beach.
Who is the workshop for?
For surfers who already surf on a hard board and want to understand what's holding back their progress, improve their movement mechanics and make their surfing faster, more precise and more fluid.
The workshop takes place at the TRB club in the Domus hotel, Bat Galim, Haifa, on set dates published in advance.

Surf Analysis & Personal Plan
An intensive weekend for beginner to intermediate surfers: we'll identify your surfing level, work on the points holding back your progress and build a personal work plan for what comes next.

Mastering the Wave Transition
A hands-on workshop for soft- and hard-board surfers who want to reach the peak more efficiently. We work on reading the sea, paddling, timing, route selection and duck diving, including underwater filming and video analysis.
Waterproof — Confidence & Independence in the Sea
A hands-on program for surfers who want to feel more confident and independent in the water. It combines surfing, swimming, reading the sea, wave transition, breathing and coping well with pressure.
